There are times that we wish we really were born to begood at riding dirt bikes, however in truth some of us around here werenot but that really does not stop us from trying! However ‘swervy’ we are upthe straights and ‘loose’ in the corners we simply love it! With that the case whenthis flyer bounced into our inbox this morning it may well be time to dust offthe full face and dig out the stinking body armour and get out for a blast!

O.R.E events put great events on and this isthere next offering on 17^th March that we are sure is going to be anawesome weekend out! To make it even better Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance willhave collection boxes on site so having fun can also marry up to doing greatthings for a great cause!

Anthony Foy, our very own designer here at the shop hasput together this challenge that he is undertaking eth two other friends in just over a month. All weask is that everyone donates all that they can as it is for a very very veryworthwhile cause! Massive thanks!

The Way Ride 2012 - in aid of Macmillan

On 1st April 2012, Darren McDonnell, Dave Blow and Anthony Foy from Christchurch, Dorset UK have joined forces to undertake the huge challenge of off-road cycling the ‘El Camino de Santiago de Compostela’ totalling 1020km in aid of Macmillan Cancer Care.

The Way of St James (El Camino de Santiago de Compostela) is an old pilgrimage route which stretches across France and Spain, through the Pyrenees. The guys plan to complete this tough 850km off-road route which passes through mountains, towns and villages by bike in just 9 days and rather than stop within the luxury of hostels they will be sleeping quite literally where they drop.

Once the guys arrive at ‘Santiago de Compostela’ they have decided to continue to ‘Cape Finisterre’ on the Spanish coast, before returning back to ‘Santiago de Compostela’. This will add another 170km and two days to the ride bringing the total distance to 1020km in 11 days and this obviously excludes getting lost!!!!

Why are we undertaking this challenge?

We have each chosen to do this ride for individual reasons alongside trying to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan Cancer Care who truly deserve all that we can raise.

For more information on the Way of St James, we recommend watching the movie 'The Way' released in 2010, starring Martin Sheen.

Each 'pilgrim' (person who walks or rides the route) is given a passport which will be stamped at several checkpoints along the way as proof of achieving the pilgrimage.

During the journey, pilgrims leave a stone at the Cruz de Ferro as a symbol of something they wish to leave behind.

The route trail starts at ‘St-Jean-Pied-de-Port’ ends at ‘Santiago de Compostela’, the final resting place of St James.

Well it was a rather swarf filled morning today producing this unique exhaust tip that will allow a muffler to be fitted to a pipe that someone dared to say it was impossible to fit one to!!!! However time will obviously let us know if it actually fits or not!!!

Bicycle Moto-X is where the twowheel adventure really starts for a lot of the younger guns out there! InEngland the joy of digging trails use to be all bout nicking the parents shovelout of the shed and disappearing into the local woods for hours/days and weeks onend, crafting beautiful dirt lumps all for a dog walker to knock them downevery night! Well the once small niche called BMX has since grown and lost itssoul with all the ‘X-Games syndrome’ glitz and glamour. Thankfully some of thebig shot sponsors out there let the riders take control and build things thatthey want to ride not things that make riding bikes look good of 40” flatscreentelevisions!

This weekend some red-hot BMX action was served up at‘The Red Bull Roast’ on the outskirts of Queenstown, New Zealand. Throwtogether some of the world’s best BMX riders, a hand-built jump park and morebad-ass tricks than you can wave a pair of knee pads at and you have all theingredients for a perfect day's BMXing. Get a taste for it by watching JadenLeeming, and George and Louis Bolter tear things up and rest assured that over thisweekend there will have been some absolutely ridiculous riding going down!

BenSimmons was crowned King of the Hill as 32 riders took to the streets ofBristol at ‘Red Bull Hill Chasers’ in Bristol this weekend.

16elite level riders and 16 cycling enthusiasts, spanning BMX, mountain bike,road cycling and fixed gear disciplines, came together in an attempt to settlethe fierce debate of which bike discipline is best uphill, all of them aimingto be crowned "King of the Hill' and win one of the awesome, speciallymade, Charge bikes up for grabs.

The32 riders competed in a gruelling series of head-to-head knockouts on theunforgiving incline of Park Street, in Bristol city centre. The riders werepaired randomly giving amateur riders the chance to compete against the elite.

So the young gun on the apple dropped to many Colours and shadows on our swap meet poster. This is not a problem but it did mean that when We came to print out some flyers they were near impossible to read due to their size and also made the ink cartridges in the printer dry out quicker than the sahara desert.

With that the case we now have a stack of them and posters all printed out and in the shop and cafe! With that the case If you ate passing and know anywhere that could help us spread the word please drop in a take a pile! Many thanks in advance for anyone who can help!!!!

There we were last nite after a few beers in the shop and someone moaned that there hands hurt from polishing a bike. We all laughed and then turned round and realised that they had not polished one but infact the entire showroom of bikes! Wouzzzzers, we were all actually amazed that they even had any skin left on there hand left! Either way, the showroom is a rather busy place with bikes for sale at the moment, so if you ate after a new ride do get in touch!

Stacy Peralta returnedto Sundance this year with the world premiere of Bones Brigade: AnAutobiography, a continuation of sorts of his firstdocumentary, Dogtownand Z-Boys, which had its premiere in Park City in 2001. Both filmsexplore the creation and culture of modern skateboarding, along with Peralta’spart in it — this time during the 1980s era, with Bones Brigade members Steve Caballero, Tommy Guerrero, Tony Hawk, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain and Rodney Mullen.

Being that ‘Bones Brigade’ world premiere was onJan 21^st we cannot wait to see the full cut version, as in our eyes itis what its all about and why some knees of a few staff members around the shopare a little worse for wear !
